Navigate Your Tapcart Interface: STORE SETTINGS OVERVIEW
HOST
As a Shopify store owner..
When you visit your store, you’ll see tons of clickable options..
Content..
And, customizations that are all based on how you configured your store.
When you visit your mobile app with Tapcart..
(Watch out for a tongue twister below.. “Similarly rich suite”)
You’ll see a similarly rich suite of tools, but created specifically for your mobile store..
To enhance the experience for your end-users..
And, match your app to your online store.
To get started with this..
Simply navigate to ‘Settings’ within your Tapcart Dashboard.
From here, you can click on ‘App Settings’..
To modify the settings in your app to fit your store’s needs.
In this lesson, we’ll review what each of these settings do..
And, how it translates to the way your users experience your app.
Let’s start with ‘Display Sold Out Products’.
Toggling on this option will show out-of-stock products in your app.
It’s important to note, that this functionality is only supported when users search for a specific product in your app.
And, keep in mind that Tapcart can not automatically remove out-of-stock products from being visible in the app unless they are unpublished from the Tapcart sales
channel in your Shopify store.
You can also create a seamless experience for customers by turning on the ‘Quick Add Products’ feature.
This setting will allow customers to add products to their cart from any collection view with one tap.
Turn on ‘Allow Discount Codes’ to give customers the ability to enter a promo code during check out.
As a pro-tip, app exclusive discounts are a great way to drive traffic to your mobile app!
If you have gift cards enabled within your shopify store, you can toggle on the “Allow Gift Cards” feature, to give customers the ability to to use a gift card before
completing their check out.
You can also add a small note in place of “enter gift card”..
And, update the image to match your branding.
If you accept multiple currency options..
You can allow customers to shop in their local currency, by turning on ‘Allow Multi-Currency’ here!
Please note, this needs to match the settings on your Shopify dashboard.
If you need help updating this in your Shopify dashboard, you can click the link in our video notes below.
With this next setting..
You can customize the text box that prompts customers to opt in to receive push notifications from your app.
(FOMO pronounced as “FOH-MOH”)
As a best practice, we recommend using FOMO messaging here to entice your users to subscribe.
Something like..
Join the club!
If a user declines to opt-in to your push notifications upon downloading..
You can turn on the push notification re-engagement feature.
This will automatically re-engage users who deny push notification access every 45 days..
(Winks at camera during or at the end of this line. If a wink feels weird, you can try another gesture.)
And, give them another chance to make the right decision.
You can further personalize the shopping experience for your app users by enabling ‘Customer Accounts’.
By turning on the ‘Account Creation’ setting..
You can prompt customers to create an account with you, right in your mobile app!
From there you can choose if you want to require users to make an account at checkout..
Or, make it optional.
While the choice is yours, we don’t recommend disabling the account feature completely..
As creating an account can be the foundation for a strong, personal relationship with your brand..
And, it can make the checkout process easier for your customers!
One important note..
Your account settings within Tapcart must match those listed in your Shopify dashboard.
For example..
If you choose to require an account at checkout within your 'App Settings'..
You will need to have accounts enabled in your Shopify store as well.
Check out our video notes below for a link to a Shopify article that’ll walk you through this!
And, there you have it..
That wraps up our deep dive into the settings dashboard.
We can’t wait to see how you choose to customize your app for your unique brand and users.
