Launch Your Mobile App: Migrating Your Apple Developer Account
So, you’ve enrolled in an Apple Developer account, but you completed the enrollment as an ‘Individual/Sole Proprietor’ — meaning, you cannot use Tapcart.
In this lesson, we’ll cover how to migrate your account to a ‘Company/Organization’ — which will allow you to use Tapcart to host your mobile app in the App Store.
To do this, we’ll go over four steps to migrate your account to an ‘Organization.’
And, you’re probably wondering why you even need to do this — well...
By being enrolled as a ‘Company/Organization’ as opposed to an ‘Individual’, you can share key developer resources with Tapcart, so we can create and maintain your mobile app within the App Store.
So, let’s start by heading to Apple Developer and log in with your Apple ID.
Then, select ‘Membership’ on the account page..
Click the ‘Need to edit this information?’ text at the bottom of the page..
And, in the pop-up that appears, select ‘Provide your new organization information’..
Complete the form titled ‘Individual to Organization Membership Update’ with the required information..
Make sure all of your info is correct, and submit to Apple Developer.
And, that’s it.
Once your form is submitted, you can expect to receive a confirmation email, and Apple Developer will reach out within one to two days to verify your migration.
Please note here, they may request some additional information to verify your business as a legal entity.
And, if for any reason, you have any other questions about all of this, definitely reach out to your Implementation Specialist, or our support team. Somebody will be there to help you out.
And, that’s it. You now know how to migrate your Apple Developer Account to a ‘Company/Organization,’ allowing you to use Tapcart to host your mobile app in Apple’s App Store.
