NAVIGATE YOUR TAPCART INTERFACE: FILTERS
Adding product filters to your app allows users to find the exact product they want in a flash. And with Tapcart, creating filter categories is easy to do in a few simple steps.
Let’s walk through three things you’ll need to know to get you started.
First, I’ll explain what filters are..
And, why you might want to use them..
Then, we’ll go over how to tag your products in Shopify..
And how to set up your filters in Tapcart.
Okay.. So, what are filters and how do they work?
Tapcart filters work in conjunction with your Shopify tags.
You tag products in Shopify with one or multiple variant tags..
And, one or multiple collection groups that they live in.
Let’s say you have a men’s shirt for sale, called simply, “Blue Shirt”.
And, this product lives in two collections..
The ‘New Arrivals’ collection, and the ‘Men’s Tops’ collection.
So, the product must be tagged with both a variant name which we’ll call ‘color-blue’
And, the collection group names..
And, ‘Men’s Tops’.
Once our tags are set up in Shopify..
We’ll then create those same tags in Tapcart.
Once you’ve tagged the product on both platforms, the item can be filtered in both collections within your app.
A product must be tagged with both the variant name and collection names to which it belongs.
From there.. Tapcart can filter, and organize these products however you’d like..
Quickly and easily.
Let me run you through it.
Let’s first take a look at how to tag your products.
To do this..
You’ll first need to head into your Shopify store to set up the necessary tags for your products.
From your Shopify dashboard..
Navigate to ‘Products’..
Under the selected ‘Collection’..
Tap on a product to edit.
Once you are on the specified product page, scroll down to the ‘Tags’ section..
And, here you will enter all the variant names..
And, add the collections the product lives in as ‘tags’.
Then, after all the tags have been added..
Select ‘Save’ up in the top right corner.
And, there you go..
You have tags.
Now, for the filters.
You’ll head to the Tapcart dashboard..
Head over to ‘Settings’..
Scroll down to ‘Filters’..
And, here you can select ‘+ Add Filter Category’..
To create a filter category, you’ll simply add a title in the ‘Section Name’ box..
Then, add the product tag you created in Shopify in the ‘Enter Tag’ box.
Once you’ve entered the tag name, exactly as it is in Shopify, add the title in the ‘Enter Title’ box..
Finally, click ‘Save’.
And there you have it..
Your filters are all set up, giving your shoppers a seamless way to find just what they’re looking for.
