Launching Your Mobile App: Manage Products and Collections in Your App
HOST
With Tapcart you can seamlessly integrate all of your products and collections from your Shopify store to a mobile app that users can shop on.
So, what I’ll show in this lesson is how you can manage all of this, and customize what products and collections users can see while shopping in your app.
And, we’ll go over two things that allow you to do this.
The first is having products and collections in your Shopify Store, and knowing where to access these..
And then, I’ll show you how to manage the visibility of these in your app.
Okay, so we’ll start with the basics. The first thing you need is to have products or collections already created within your Shopify Store.
If you already have those, then you’ll see when signing in to your dashboard, you can select ‘Products’ and see all of your ‘Active’, ‘Draft’, and ‘Archived’ Products..
And, same here with the collections. I can choose ‘Collections’ and see everything here as well.
Now for all these active products and collections to show up in your mobile app, we’ll need to make them available on the ‘Tapcart sales channel.’
To do this, select your products..
Filter by ‘Availability - Available on Online Store’..
Select all products populated by this filter.
And, make sure that you click on ‘Select all 50+ products under this filter’ to select every product within your store.
Then, under ‘More actions,’ you can select ‘Add available channels’ to make products available on the ‘Tapcart - Mobile App’.
And, you can repeat these same steps for adding your collections!

Now that we have all your products and collections available in Tapcart, I’ll show you how you can manage this, so you have the ability to show what products are
exclusively available on the app or website.
From here, I can see the status of these products are marked as ‘active’ or ‘draft’. Meaning, it’s visible or not visible to users. And when I select one, I can see that this is
active on both my Online Store and Tapcart.
This means that the product is available on both my website and my app. And, I actually have the ability to choose whether this product is active on either one of these
individually.
So, it can be on both channels, one of them, or neither of them.
To do this — I’ll select a product and under ‘Product status’ we can control exactly where this product will be shown.
So, for example, I can set this to ‘Active’..
And under my available channels and apps..
I can click into ‘Manage’..
And choose whether I want this to be active on either my website, my app, or both channels.
And, it works the same for your collections as well. You can simply choose any collection, and activate the same options to show or hide this collection on your mobile
app.

This is really helpful to control which products you want to keep on either channel — for example, having exclusive product drops in your app, or early access to a new
collection for app users only.
And that’s really it; you now know how to manage the products and collections on your app to control exactly what your users see.
In the next lesson; you’ll learn how to manage the products and collections in your Shopify dashboard to control what your users can see on your mobile app.
